Arena II - incl How to Organize War Council

It's that time of year again, when all our strongest warriors take off to the Arena to discover who among them is the strongest. In order to participate you need to have Arena Tokens which can be obtained when battling 'Alpha Mephistopheles', 'Red Plains', 'Azriel', 'Alpha Bahamut', or 'Bahamut' Monsters. You'll also receive 1 token for every 10 minutes your in the Arena.

This is great news as it should mean LESS Critical Monster's needing assistance compared to last year.

    General Advice for ARENA II
from LadyAida CastleAge WoW 28 July
    1. Fight only the monsters that will give you additional tokens (Alpha Mephistopheles, Red Plains, Azriel, Alpha Bahamut, or Bahamut)

    2. Sign up right away so you start charging immediately

    3. Lay low the first few days, a lot of changes mean potential bugs in the system, not to mention if you let some people rank up you can get additional tokens when you attack those around your level who are higher rank.

    4. Keep an eye out for the reinforcement tab, seems there might be additional help coming via that feature.

    5. On the first day we will know if it is anonymous killing or not, If it is then swing away may the most dedicated win. If its not and your victim will see your attacks on the battle page then I would suggest a little caution.

    6. Based on our in house PvP advisors advice for war here is the best advice we have for ARENA II battling-- If you can win the +5 slot the majority of the time then put your 2 best generals in the +2 slot. Then place your 2nd best generals in the +3 slot, and your 3rd best in the +1 slot. You only need 9 to win. If you can win those two +2 slots (along with your +5 slot) then you are golden. Most everyone is going to put their best generals in the +3 slot, not the +2 slot. So you should have a heads up on many other players out there. Remember to adjust your war council when battling Red Plains based on the damages %’s there. You really only need 2 very good Generals and yourself to win.

    1. Equip Adriana as your main general in CA. ( you might need to purchase her as a past oracle general).

    2. Look at your list of generals and if you don’t have 2 over 50 ATK+DEF then you need to go shopping use this reference to see what you can do as far as farming/purchasing from the oracle/chest diving(not recommended unless you invest money in these things)

    3. Test your set up. Keep the war council open in another window while attacking in Arena. You can play with the setup in the other window if you're close. But try to return to your best 2 generals in the 2 +2 slots before you try someone else.

    4. Wait 2-3 days while people smack each other around and try to rise in level quickly, there will soon be people 3-4 ranks ahead of you that you CAN beat and will get LOTS of coins for which allow you to earn more points.

Remember the only negative is your health (and maybe money but you should be banking that anyways), so sign up and at least you will enjoy that shiny helmet.

    Arena 2 Rules:
    • Each Battle requires 10 Arena Tokens

    • Win War Duels on the Arena Page to earn Arena Points

    • Your character will be automatically healed periodically and summoned forth into battles, even if you are not logged on

    • Your rank is based on the number of Arena Points relative to all other Arena participants

    • The higher your Opponent's Rank relative to yours, the more Arena Points you receive for winning

    • Opponents of lower rank will yield fewer Arena Points per win and also result in more Arena Points lost per loss

    • At the end of each day, you will be awarded a rank relative to all Arena participants

    • Your current rank at the end of the Arena season will determine your final rank and your rewards

    • You will receive rewards for your rank as well as all ranks below it

    • Minimum level to opt into the arena is level 80

    • Add Reinforcements for additional bonuses in Arena. Each Reinforcement bonus will last for 5 days.

Arena 2 Rewards ~ According to Tier:
    1. 'Brawler' = Swordsman Helmet (15A 15D) ... 81%

    2. 'Swordsman' = Warrior Gauntlet (9A 9D) ... 61-80%

    3. 'Warrior' = Warrior Insignia (20A 15D) ... 41-60%

    4. 'Gladiator' = Gladiator Plate (28A 14D) ... 16-40%

    5. 'Hero' = Whirlwind (28A 17D) ... 6-15% Best in slot

    6. 'Vanguard' = Vanguard Helmet (35A 35D) ... 3-5%

    7. 'Alpha Vanguard' = Ragnarok Soldier (105A 105D) ... 0-2%

NOPE.. the rewards for competing don't really impress me!

    Arielle Walk-through

To obtain 'Arielle' and all her Equipment do the following .. see (1)

    Q 3: 'Kingdom of Mist' - //apps.facebook.com/castle_age/qengage.php?crt=tr&adv_id=3

3.Head in the direction of the fire!
4.Aid the Allied Rangers and Rogues to ensure their safety.
5.Remain in the outer campsite to aid the allied Rangers and seek Mystic Scrolls!

What is this?!! A Ranger appears out of nowhere, and his blade is ready to strike an allied Rogue. He is the Enemy!
Ranger: My Shadow Leaf has worn out too soon! I need Shadow Leaves to remain hidden. If you give me one Shadow Leaf and let me go, I'll give you a valuable Mystic Scroll!

Choose option 3 - Attack and capture the Ranger! (Requires 12 Army Members)

Repeat this till you have 10 scrolls

    Then >>

Find the Princess before... Till you have ten Princesses

    >> Go collect rewards / you will most likely have to do the above several times

    1. Check the cabins surrounding the docks
    2. Continue checking the docks

Repeat this step. A "Special Event" will randomly occur, where you can capture knights and obtain dark elixir.

Choose option 1 - "Attack the Enemy Knights" (2 Stamina).

Continue checking the docks until you have 10 dark elixirs.

    3. Head to the Merchant Ships
    4. Continue searching nearby ships for officers and dark elixirs. (5 Energy)

Repeat this step. A "Special Event" will randomly occur, where you can capture more knights for the skill point bonus. You need 100 knights.

Use the 2nd option - "Rush the Enemy Knights with overwhelming force" (4 Stamina).

Continue checking the ships until you have 100 knights. * I skipped this but still acquired my 100 knights while doing the next stage of the walk-through.

    5. Head to the last ship...
    6. Search the last ship!

Repeat this step. A "Special Event" will randomly occur, where you can capture Assassins.

Choose option 1 - 'Use a Dark Elixir to Hypnotize the Enemy Forces'

Continue searching the last ship until you have 10 Assassins (You're swapping 10 dark elixirs for 10 Assassins).

    >> Go collect rewards / you will most likely have to do the above several times. You won't get the 'Shield of Arielle' until after you've captured the 10 assassins and completed the quest.

    4. Head to the light...
    5. Explore vault!

Repeat this step. A "Special Event" will randomly occur, where you can obtain Empty Crystals. Choose option 3 - "Rush the Enemies with overwhelming force" (4 Stamina).

Continue Exploring the vault until you have 15 crystals.

Note: If you have 15 crystals, you can go straight to Quest 6 without completing Quest #5 as it remember's how many turns you have left.

    Q #6: 'Kingdom of water : Dark Tower' - //apps.facebook.com/castle_age/qengage.php?crt=tr&adv_id=6
    1. Explore the lower levels.
    2. Head higher...
    3. Continue your ascent.

Note: A "Special Event" might randomly occur, where you can obtain Maiden's Soul. Choose option 1 - "Hold an Empty Crystal in her direction..."

If you've already obtained all the souls, choose option 3 for a chance at Golem Bane.

    4. Remain in the middle of the tower.

Repeat this step. A "Special Event" will randomly occur, where you can obtain Maiden's Soul. Choose option 1 - "Hold an Empty Crystal in her direction..."

Remain in the middle of the tower until you have 15 Maiden Souls (15 Empty Crystals for 15 Maiden's Souls).

If you've already obtained all the souls, choose option 3 for a chance at Golem Bane.

    5. Head to the top...
    6. Explore room.

Repeat this step. A "Special Event" will randomly occur, where you can capture Maidens. Choose option 3 - "Rush the Enemies with overwhelming force" (4 Stamina).

Continue Exploring the room until you have 15 Maidens. If you still have turns left of the quest after capturing 15 Maidens, choose option 3 - Rush the Enemy with overwhelming force (4 stamina) for Golem Bane.

You need a total of 20 Golem Banes for Quest #5 - 10 for Golem Population Reward (+1 Skill Point), and 10 to capture the Champions (+1 Skill Point, Armor of Arielle). Focus on the 10 for Champions right now.

    Q #5: 'Kingdom of Water : Underground Caves' - //apps.facebook.com/castle_age/qengage.php?crt=tr&adv_id=5
    1. Work your way back to the vault, using Golem Bane options in Special Events.
    2. Repeat Explore Vault.

A "Special Event" will randomly occur, where you can capture Champions. Choose option 1 - "Use a Golem Bane to control the Golems and capture the Champion!"

Continue Exploring the vault until you have captured 10 Champions.

    What is a Chainer

    By: Hicham Loutfy

Do not consider a person who attacks you 10-15 times and kills you a chainer, only one that returns repeatedly day after day. Let us be clear, a chainer is someone who attacks you more than 10 times in one day. Then returns the next day and does the same thing. They have clearly bookmarked you for the purpose of returning again and again to gain battle points for a higher tier in battle.

What to DO when you are attacked?

Do not wait until the next day; send a FR from the first day. This can help you by growing your army with stronger players and can help you with your CTA for monster.
By having a larger and stronger army, it will also increase your chances when you do PVP duel or invade.

When you send to your attacker a FR make sure to include a note "CA – TY” only that and nothing more. This will not put any doubt in your attackers mind.
When he accepts your request, immediately look at his Wall and find his Call for Elite Guard by clicking above you will join his army automatically.

Why would you do problem when the solution is so easy and it works on 98% of cases.

The most important thing to do when attacked is: >>> DO NOT COUNTER ATTACK <<<.

Returning an attack by revenge or just out of curiosity, to see his or her Keep items, can create a series of unfortunate events. Your attacker will see in his "news battle” that you have returned attack and he will attack again and again and you will get angry and attack him again… and…again. Hence the war begins.

When and if this happens you will come across a challenge in the remaining 2%. And your attacker didn't accept your FR and attacked again, do not think in a negative way and assume that they are a "Bully".
They are simply someone who does not know how to play the game fairly. Even some of the top players in Castle Age do not yet know the game well… OR… It may simply be that CA has put your name back into his "Hit List" and your attacker did the same thing since it's their way of playing.

Such lack of knowledge from these types of players creates blindness and ruins it for many other players of the game.

Apart from learning the strategically part of the Castle Age game, we all need to learn to play the game with respect and courtesy.

You may send him a message saying “I noticed you attacked me two days away, I will be happy if you accept my request and add me to your army, I will appreciate it and we can share battles together”.

There, and only in this moment with his answer we can determine what kind of person is he/her.

If he responds with aggression, we must find a trusted friend. Friends who can negotiate on your behalf. That friend should be a good negotiator, not a person who puts the gas on the fire and cause to push our attacker to attack again. If we do not find a friend who can do it for us, we can request assistance from a group.

It is recommended that you find two honorable members from that group to contact your attacker. It is better if this person helping you was not involved before in any cases of bullies. Good reputation in CA is very important in negotiating with your attacker. If, none of these tactics work, you can contact the Conflict Resolution Team at The High Council of Castle Age.

If you have done all of the above and your attacker does not seem to let up. You have the last option that could be done, is to contact the developers of the Castle Age game and FB administration. You can to ask them to look into this person who is attacking you persistently and does not allow you to enjoy the Castle Age game. They should be able to contact your attacker and provide him with an option. Either they will stop or run the risk of being banned from both Castle Age game and FaceBook.

It is unfortunately that some cases to have arrived to this point.

Finally: Game has to stay a game.

    The Steps:
    1. DO NOT COUNTER ATTACK.
    2. Send a FR with include a note "CA - TY” only.
    3. Join by “Elite Guard” Call.
    4. Find a good negotiator friend.
    5. Ask help from 2 honorable administrators groups.
    6. Ask help from CRO team.
    7. Contact the developers of the Castle Age game.
Thank you for reading, good game.

    Best General to Use

    Jay Tanner writes >>

Everything has changed, guys. CA has added four new generals:
    • Solara (the current monthly special)
Transfer 20% Max Energy to Max Stamina

    • Hyacinth (Common Oblivion chest drop)
Transfer 20% Max Stamina to Max Energy

    • Halcyon (Rare Oblivion chest drop)
      Transfer 25% Attack to Defense

    • Xira (Epic Oblivion chest drop)
      Transfer 25% Defense to Attack
In short, these four generals CHANGE THE GAME. No matter what your build is, with these four generals you can shift your stats on the fly depending on your situation and what it calls for... and that's not all, just keep reading.

    Solara and Hyacinth

Solara takes 25% of your energy, cuts that number in half (since stamina costs twice as much as energy to raise) and adds it to your maximum stamina.

Hyacinth takes 20% of your stamina, DOUBLES that number, and adds it to your maximum energy. (and yes, I've confirmed she does in fact double it).

So you have 500 energy and 500 stamina. Equip Solara and now you have 375 energy and 582 stamina. Comes in pretty damn handy when you've got someone steadily healing the boss and you need to throw some extra hits in. Or especially on dragons or cronus, or anything without a life bar.

Now turn that around and put on Hyacinth. You now have 400 stamina and *700!* energy! That's two more 100-point heals that could reopen a tactics slot in War of the Red Plains or help save a group that's failed deflection so they can get back to doing damage.

Not to mention, if you put a ton of points in one and not the other (for example, you're one of those 1000 energy healer builds with only 100 stamina) - you can more than DOUBLE your stamina when you need some extra hits.

    Xira and Halcyon

These two, if you are high enough level, replace the "old guard" completely. They finally broke the "Malekus/Ambrosia Effect", which required you to pokemon every general you could get your hands on to optimize your power. These two are quite simple. Xira takes 25% of your defense and slaps it onto your attack. For me, that number is 144 and I am level 549. Even better, Halcyon takes my low ass defense and, due to my high attack, boosts it by over *200*.

Yes, all but Solara require you to do some chest gambling. That said, in this case it's truly worth it, probably more than it EVER has been. This chest is the best one they've ever made. To sweeten the pot, Corvintheus is the best War Council general in CA, and Xira is #6, right behind the five demi-powers. Halcyon hits 18/27 at level 4, putting her pretty high up in that regard as well (that said, I don't use her since my weakest WC generals are Meph and Azriel.)

CA has changed dramatically with the addition of these generals, because these four and either Barbarus or Orc King are pretty much all you need now, except the utility ones that everyone gets for free (Darius for purchases, Aeris for banking, Sano for influence, Scarlett for income, etc.) Granted, it did kinda suck selling so many archangels that I'd spent so long building up, for a fraction of the price (Azriel was the hardest hitter if you had enough of them, but Xira has taken that mantle by far now) but oh well.

These 4 generals add a level of flexibility that was impossible before. They can expand any build or compensate for its flaws, or if you're very well balanced, they make you a virtual swiss army knife, able to adapt to whatever situation you need.

If you can afford it and don't mind playing the chest slots, it's worth it. Xira, Halcyon, Hyacinth and Solara, especially when you have all 4, are the best thing that's ever happened to CA.

Bottom line: Everything else is obsolete now except maybe Mephistopheles (invasions) and, of course, big hitters for your War Council.
